Chausu Mountain Cherry Blossom Festival (April)

An event is held at foot of Chausu Mountain Park, which is well-known for its magnificent cherry trees, where the row of stands enlivens the festive atmosphere.


Tsukidate Lily Festa (July)

This is a handmade event by the townfs people, who grow and assemble many golden-rayed lilies together.
The flower-loving people of the town, wholeheartedly grow the lilies displayed all over the event site, which attracts and fascinates the visitors with the large elegant and sublime blooms.


Ryozen Taiko (Drum) Festival (August)

More than 60 sets of Taiko (large drums) are kept at each settlement in Ryozen town. It is said that the beginning of Ryozen Taiko drum was during the Kanbun Period (1661-1672) in Edo Period, which uniquely flourished and was inherited in the Shintatsu area (area of Fukushima and Date) and became a 350-year-old tradition.
With all the taiko (drums) in the town being assembled, over 700 performers show their trained skills at this Ryozen Taiko (drum) Festival annually.
Douji-uchi, taiko (drum) beating all at once by a total of 700 taiko drum performers, is dynamic and flamboyant, which shake the ground as the thunder roars.


Date Momo-no-Sato (Land of Peaches) Marathon (August)

Annually the start and finish line was located in front of Abukuma Kyukou (Express) Hobara Station, but since 2003 (15th year of Heisei), the location was changed to Chuo Kominkan (Central Community Center) (Jinya-dori). Local runners and runnder from all over Japan participate in this marathon. The number of participants is growing annually and the 46th marathon was held in 2006 (18th year of Heisei) with about 3,541 participants in 23 divisions by age and sex.
